Hellooo, casual Friday! Skipping the stockings and donning a pair of baby blues … just one more reason to look forward to the end of the week – depending on your company's dress code. Women's jeans turn 75 this year, thanks to Levi Strauss, which introduced the look in 1934 for tough cowgirls to wear at the ranch. Today, the look works for tough execs as well.
 
So how do you make your denim look less Saturday-afternoon and more 9-to-5? "Pair a boyfriend blazer with boot cuts, the year-round best style for work," says Robanne Schulman, corporate fashion consultant and owner of Plaid Monkey. "For fall, skinny jeans (always go darker for work, and leave the distressed look at home) with flat boots and an equestrian jacket are trendy and office appropriate."
 
Schulman recommends these flattering options:
 
       
 
Looking for denim that's "thigh-slimming, stomach-flattening, buttocks-shaping and leg-lengthening"? Try Hello! Skinny.
 
Your hips, waist, legs and butt aren't quite as unique as your DNA, but close enough that Genetic Denim's motto, "It's all in your genes," makes sense. Check out the variety of cuts for every shape and size.
 
And there's J Brand jeans in boot, skinny and straight cut. Schulman likes their mid-rise options for those ladies who want to eliminate "crackage" and hide muffin-tops.

Now that we've given you the top trends, many of you have asked how to put it all together...or how can you wear it to work, play and night? There are an abundance of options out there, but we've given you a quick cheat sheet below to inspire you!

Many people shy away from red, but if you put it back to grey tones it gives it more of a subtle look, yet pair it back to black for a slightly stronger look or simply just sport a red jacket back to jeans, pants or a skirt depending on whether it is for work or play!

 
Fall is all about leather this season, but how can you sport leather to the office? Others want to know a great day look and we've also had some requests for a "how-to" for evening...
 
This first jacket with the leather lapels is just enough for the office without going overboard and the leather bustier is perfect for cocktail.  And you can always pair a sportier jacket back to a pencil skirt and still be office appropriate.

 
Fur was also one of our top trends mentioned and we've found a triple threat item that can go anywhere. FUR REAL PEOPLE! This black wool-blend jacket with a sumptuously soft detachable rabbit fur vest lining is a luxe urban twist on an outdoor classic. Wear this versatile jacket over a simple tank and jeans or as a chic city coat draped over a tailored trouser. Wanna sport the thigh high boot? First, you've got to be over 5"3 (that counts me out) and if you are lucky enough to be so then put them back to a skniny pant with a draped leather jacket for a chic well proportioned office look.  For you more petite ladies like myself, the knee high boot is just as sexy and has the same "WOW" factor.

The first picture (also shown above) is a great example of how to sport the cut-out bootie/heel this fall and you can be ANY height to wear this one. So whatever your heels this season, kick 'em up ladies because it's time to show them off!

- i.e., The Weather Channel. They are waking up with Al Roker every morning at 6 am...(I know..ouch) but no worries for the late risers they replay the show at 10am. Stephanie Abrams, the vivacious and always adorable meteorologist gets to chat up the weather with Al every morning. And Plaid Monkey is extremely happy to be a part of this huge change since NBC purchased the network.They are getting a new look along with the new show and we are so excited to be working with NBC and The Weather Channel and their select on-air talent's wardrobing (including Stephanie). She was our first Red Carpet on-air talent we have had the opportunity to dress and it was incredible! So what can we say.... we heart NBC and we heart The Weather Channel!!!!

You asked for it, so here's your guide to the latest trend in men's wear....

1)  THE JACKET IS SLIMMER IN EVERY ASPECT. The new, narrower fit is accompanied by a thinner lapel, higher button stance, and softer shoulders. Who says men can't show off their curves ;) ?     
 
2)  THE TIES ARE SLIM. The shirts, as well, are a more snug fit with fitted shoulders and slightly shorter sleeves.  Out with too much heavy fabric, in with a more heat-friendly look.  Have at it!!         
 
3)  TROUSERS ARE MORE FITTED, yet are very "air-y" making for great summer-to-fall comfort.  Short inseams and a lower rise also partake in this pantalon perfection!  Of course, the flat front as opposed to the pleat accent the new, trim proportions of the jacket.

2. THE MAXI DRESS - Great summer style that can transition from day to evening- * Also, those who want to hide their arms, designers are creating maxi dresses with sleeves in various styles!!

 

3. THE BOYFRIEND BLAZER - Awesome for transforming a tee and jeans into a seemingly tailored ensemble. Also, these are economically efficient being they can be worn through fall. Try pairing this with destroyed denim to create a less sloppy look.

4. STATEMENT JEWELRY - Express Yourselves!!! Bold jewelry spices up outfits and it is a truly simple addition! Try a big necklace with a simple cami. to look put-together with little to no effort!! Summer is for relaxing!!!

5. THE GLADIATOR SANDAL - Thank goodness this trend is only worn on the streets, not in the rink! 1. Shape brows - we've talked about how this is so important- instantly gives your eyes a lift and boost!
2. Exfoliate exfoliate exfoliate!!!!!!! If you're baring those legs they need not be ashy!!!!!!!!
3. Use SPF every day! GET A TINTED MOISTURIZER WITH SPF TO GET A TWO FOR ONE!!!!!
5. Experiment with different color(shadows, glosses) great time to transform your winter face to a spring face - i.e bronzers, highlighters, etc.

DON'T!!!!!!
1. Tan - there are too many great options out there to get that bronze look without burning your skin!!!!!!! no bueno!!! the TAN TOWEL!!!!!!!!!!!ROCKS!!!!!!
2. Go crazy with the fake lash trend. Get a professional to do it if you aren't sure of it.
3. Share make-up...remember when mom said don't share your drink with people...same concept...unless you want your friend's germs all over your favorite gloss...
4. Forget to moisturize!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing kills that great outfit more than ashy legs and arms people
5. Over-do anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
